For a number of years now, we have been pretty much "anti
bike-kit".
In the past, if you were to call and want to buy one, we would probably
try to talk you out of it by explaining to you that if you let us help
you to assemble all the parts yourself, you can have exactly what you
want for less than the price of a pre-made bike kit. Also we would tell
you about the problems we have seen and experienced with bike kits as
far as parts missing, failing to fit, etc....
For some of you anyway, we can't really claim this to be true
anymore. Custom Chrome has come a long way with their bike kits. They
have lowered their prices considerably, and although we can't 100%
guarantee that you won't hit some minor snags during assembly, overall
their kits are pretty easy to assemble these days. As much as we hate
to admit it, it will probably go smoother than designing and assembling
a bike from scratch.
If you like the looks of a kit without having to change too many
components, (keep in mind, there are ABSOLUTELY NO
SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED)
a Custom Chrome kit bike may be just right for you. You really can't
beat the price, or the convenience of simply ordering a kit and having
basically every single part needed to assemble a complete bike, right
down to every nut, bolt and washer. (In theory anyway ;-) ).
Another plus is that all the Custom Chrome kits use RevTech®
engines and transmissions that have the best warrantee program in the
business. They all come with a manufacturers warrantee for 2
years/20,000 miles (88 and 100 inch engine) and 5 year/50,000 miles
(transmission). That's better then what Harley gives you! (Except the
new 110" engine which is 1 Year/10,000 miles).
Of course, we still offer the
same service and "Bike Builder Discounts" to the scratch built custom
bike builders as always, so if you don't see a kit that turns you on,
we will be more than happy to help you put your own personalized kit
